This info seems to persist in the Status Bar, long after we've moved away from the image itself, the website, or even that tab.

Many websites were i can load an image out of random html designs & infos, by dragging the image to a new url with sometimes end-urls like: *.jpg or png or gif or bmp, etc. Ex:
bizarre addon's actions are not possible there, like zooming or rotating.
When this was never an issue in previous imagezoom addon ((

There's a note in the latest changelog entry: Removed support when viewing images directly (for now anyway).
Due to issues caused by the click-to-zoom design of the individual image display page, the extension needs some improvements to make it behave better. Hopefully the next version will include an all new system for standalone images.

Hopefully, cause it's so frustrating when an image is loved to the point of needing a zoom or when it's too small & a better view's needed.

Yes, this is the only issue I have. The controls do not appear when an image is already open ("loaded", if you will) in the browser.
Which is a bit weird.
