Why not allow switching or remapping of the mouse buttons?
Mar 19, 3:41 PM
I thought this was going to be a quick and simple solution to my (old) replacement mouse having the forward and back buttons in the wrong order. I tried in the app without any success, then I tried to remap some keys to BrowserForward and BrowserBack keys with PowerToys Keyboard Manager. Unfortunately, this app picked up the original keystrokes instead of the remapped keys. So, I couldn't even use that to remap the keyboard browser keys to the mouse browser buttons.I'll try X-Mouse Button Control, but that seems to do much more than I want. I'll keep this page open for a few days to see if there is a reply from the dev. It really seems like that would be the main use case. Perhaps you could include some Preset Profiles (unremovable perhaps) to cover the main ways this app is likely to be used.

It worked initially, but now even after restarting computer, disconnecting mouse, and reinstalling the manager, it no longer will work- it just keeps doing back and forward. Any ideas?

Please make sure the program is running on startup. If Mouse Manager isn't actively running, it can't do anything. Additionally, if your mouse has any proprietary software installed as part of its drivers, this can interfere with Mouse Manager's functionality.

 Hi,
The program was working great for me until now. I have a new mouse and I want one of the buttons to do CTRL+Z, and so I input it in the profiles tab. However, the program just produces the letter z when I press the mouse button. I've tried other key combinations but it's as if pressing the button only produces the sequence of separate jeys (CTRL, and after, Z) rather than the combination of both keys. Single key replication is working great.
Thanks for the program in any case; it's extremely practical and useful...!

This is a total shot in the dark, but try holding the mouse button in question down for a little longer than an immediate press-and-release? It may not be sending the "mouse down" and "mouse up" events as cleanly as other mice.

 Thanks for the quick reply!
No luck. Tried waiting different lengths of time, same result.
I can also do the same command with the combination [_ + u + ENTER], but I have the same problem with the lower dash, since I have to do [SHIFT + -] to get _

Thanks for that. It works if I hold down the button for about one second :-)

I have the same problem assigning Ctrl- C and Ctrl-V to my iClever Mouse. It just outputs c and v respectively. Holding down Ctrl for too long just auto repeats it so it isn't a timing thing.

Can you add an option to call WM_PLAY, WM_STOP to control video/music playing and not just pressing keys?
