Really not looking to bind keys to extra mouse buttons, but instead for Windows/games to treat the buttons as unique buttons. For example, mostly all games let you set game functions to keys or to Mouse 1 or Mouse 2. I want to be able to set a game function to Mouse 4. I don't want to use up key strokes such as bind Mouse 4 to the keyboard key "K". That uses up K, and all keys are usually logically assigned to a function already by the game. I want to assign (keymap) a "Mouse 4" to the game function "Jump" (for example) rather than assign "K" to "Jump" and then Mouse 4 to "K". Just like I can assign "Mouse 2" to "Jump" function, want to be able to directly assign "Mouse 4" to "Jump" function. However all these "systems" seem to only allow game functions to recognize there's a mouse button 1 and 2 and wheel, but not 3 or more.

Mapping my key 4 to L and key 5 to K isn't working. There is no error message, nothing. It's simply not doing anything. any clue on how to fix this? I'm using a Logitech g203.

The Logitech G series uses editable firmware (they call it Onboard Memory) to remap the mouse buttons permanently in the mouse, which will definitely interfere with Mouse Manager's functionality. Please make sure to use Logitech's Onboard Memory Manager tool to reset the buttons to their default states.

I wrote a very simple little program that just detects the two extra buttons being pressed: <https://uploads.realityripple.com/Projects/MouseMonitor.zip>. If the states say "Active" when you press the extra buttons, then Mouse Manager should function correctly.

I'm afraid I'm going to need more information than the type - please copy the error in its entirety.

Mouse Manager disables browser back keys. Uninstalling Mouse Manager restores the functioning of the keyboard browser back keys.

If your keyboard is non-standard and includes keys that emulate the Back and Forward navigation of a mouse, then yes; those navigation commands are the 4th and 5th mouse button, which is what this program is designed to intercept and replace with key commands.

I'm afraid I don't know about specific mouse compatibility, however there is an easy way to tell: if you plug your mouse into a different computer, do the button assignments travel with the mouse?
If so, then the software is sending commands to the mouse itself, and Mouse Manager may not work correctly, as it does not know how to talk to the mouse directly.
If remapping the buttons does NOT travel with the mouse, then Mouse Manager should work fine.
